So today I’m going to review Logitech’s Z523 Speaker System. These speakers are not as powerful as some others I have reviewed but if you are looking for a cheaper sound system option these may be the ones for you.
These speakers are perfect for gamers that are looking for an immersive sound experience, this is because they use a sound technology called 360-degree. This means wherever your sitting or standing in a room, the sound quality will still be very high which will lead to a better sound experience, the sound will also adopt the great sound quality even if your behind the speaker system.
This speaker system also comes with a down-firing sub-woofer which will lead to a more intense gaming and home theatre experience. You can literally feel the bass at higher volumes as it delivers clear and deep bass, it also delivers the bass without distortion no matter what volume. I have never turned up the bass fully on this system because I will never need it, but if you do, it’s definitely there for you.
These logitech computer speakers also have convenient on-speaker controls which are placed on the right hand side speaker, this allows you to easily change the volume and bass whenever you need to. There’s no need to crawl under your desk to change the bass like some traditional speaker systems. The speaker system also comes with integrated audio jacks for easy connection to your gaming consoles, iPod, DVD and even your headphones.
The final thing I love about these speakers is the fact that the bottom of the speakers are made to be wide so they do not fall over. I’ve done this too many times with my other speakers which can cause them to break. These speakers also have metal grills on the front and backs to protect them if they do happen to fall over.

Sleek, Awesome, Sounds Wonderful, March 18, 2010I can’t find enough words to describe these speakers! I’m not going to even try to go into as much depth as some of those who have come before me — sound to me is sound. As long as it’s not static sounding, is loud enough without having to hear humming in the background, and fills my room with ambient noise I’m one happy customer.
And I can hardly control how happy I am with these speakers.
I set them up on my TV with my playstation plugged in for a little extreme Final Fantasy action. The game’s music is beautiful but when it is combined with these awesome speakers it’s more intense than I could desire.
I highly suggest this set of speakers.

Good sound system, April 9, 2010I did my research here at Amazon and elsewhere, and chose these speakers figuring they’d offer the level of quality, workmanship and low enough cost to be a good deal. I was correct. My wife and I are both very pleased, playing our iTunes or Pandora most of the time we’re in our study on a computer. As for all the comments about “mid-range”, well, maybe I’m just not sensitive enough, but the speakers sound great to me, whether loud or soft, upper or lower range and everything in between.
Pros: very nice sound, easy set up, reasonable price and free shipping
Cons: wish the wires were longer, wish each speaker’s wires were attached via plug rather than hardwired
Overall: highly recommend this set to anyone who isn’t in need of distant separated speakers

In this post I’ll be reviewing the Logitech Z-2300 computer system. I bought these for a friend of mine so this review is technically written by him, so think of it as a guest post from himself.
The first thing I would like to mention about these speakers is that the sub-woofer is absolutely amazing. I have it placed just under my desk and playing games like Call of Duty MW2 is just fantastic. I have only set it at half bass and it still shakes my desk to pieces!
This sound system also comes with an adapter which allows me to plug in my gaming consoles and DVD/CD player to it, an extra added bonus that I really love! This speaker system is not only good for games, it sounds great with music too.
Most songs you can hear every instrument that is playing, it couldn’t possibly sound any better than the original track itself. I should also mention that there is no humming sound when it’s quiet or no sound is playing, my old speakers did this and it was very annoying!

I really like the control device on the Z-2300 as well, it sits nicely next to my keyboard and has nice big dials to adjust the volume and bass. The power off button is also nice and large so its easy enough to press without muting the sound on your computer or turning the dial. It also has a plug for headphones which is very convenient, I no longer have to keep unplugging my sound system from the back of my computer, instead I can just plug them straight into the sound system itself.
I should also mention that these particular Logitech computer speakers are very easy to set up, you just need to plug the speakers into sub woofer and then plug the sound cable into your sound card, no drivers and no hassle.

Outstanding speakers for a great price, April 24, 2010The Logitech z-2300′s are incredible speakers. With 200 watts total rms, they overpower all speakers in and above this price range. The 120 watt subwoofer is amazing, with thunderous and crisp bass. When the bass is turned all the way up and volume halfway, my entire desk vibrates, as well as the window blinds.
The two satellite speakers provide excellent quality sound. The only other speakers I can compare them too are the pair of harmon/kardons that came with my dell. Each speaker is 40 watts, again, more than any other set of speakers in this price range.

Big sound, small package, April 7, 2010I was looking for something to replace the default speakers on my TV. A friend suggested this product and while the sub-woofer was bigger than I was expecting, and weighed more than I was expecting (30lbs!?), the sound quality from the speakers is great. The speakers are also small and sit beside my TV without taking up a lot of real-estate beside the TV. In the room the TV is in we run the speaker setting at about 20%, it can get loud, and the bass can get heavy. This little system can really crank it out. This would work really well as a desktop sound system as well, especially if gaming. Great sound from Music as well. If you are looking for a 2 speaker system I couldn’t recommend this enough.

More volume than your likely to need, February 25, 2010Up until owning this system we had a 40 watt Harman Kardon 2.1 system that we thought was pretty good. I have to say that the Logitech is a much better system. Many will find that the 200 watt Logitech has way more power available than they are likely to use. I have my windows volume set to 60% and cannot set the Logitech above 50% on the dial without being uncomfortable.
The bass is very solid with this unit. I found midrange to be a little thin, but have compensated with placement of the sub. If your arrangement allows, place the sub approximately 6″ from a corner or wall (preferably bass port toward the wall). Experiment a little to find the sweet spot, and the absence of a strong mid-range from the satellites will be less noticeable.
I am confident that this unit could fill a 20 x 20 room with quality sound, and has been the most musical computer speakers I have ever owned. You can’t beat the sound for this price. Definately better (and cheaper) than the Bose brand.
